Brings Free Healthcare to Ban Khrua Community Bumrungrad Volunteer Mobile Medical Unit
The Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation , in collaboration with Bumrungrad International Hospital, continued its commitment to community health through the Bumrungrad Volunteer Mobile Medical Unit 3/2026. The outreach activity was held on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at Yamiul Khoiriyah Mosque, also known as Surao Kong Asa Cham , in the historic Ban Khrua community. Ban Khrua is one of Bangkok’s oldest Muslim communities, with roots dating back to the reign of King Rama I. By bringing medical services directly into the neighborhood, the initiative aimed to make essential healthcare more accessible while strengthening relationships with local residents. A team of eight specialist physicians from several medical disciplines volunteered their time and expertise to provide free consultations and health screenings. The participating specialties included internal medicine, pediatric cardiology, orthopaedics, and dentistry. Community members had the opportunity to discuss health concerns, receive professional medical advice, and undergo basic assessments designed to identify potential health risks.
The event was supported by a multidisciplinary team of more than 50 healthcare professionals and volunteers. Nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and volunteer staff worked closely with the physicians to coordinate patient care, provide medication guidance, assist with physical health assessments, and help ensure that each participant received attentive, well-organized support. The collaborative approach reflected Bumrungrad’s focus on patient-centered care, where different healthcare professionals work together to address the needs of each individual. In addition to medical consultations, the outreach encouraged greater awareness of preventive care and the importance of seeking medical attention when symptoms or health concerns arise. The Bumrungrad Volunteer Mobile Medical Unit is part of the Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation’s continuing efforts to support underserved communities and improve access to quality healthcare. Through the dedication of its medical teams, healthcare professionals, and volunteers, the program helps bring practical health support closer to people while reinforcing a shared commitment to community well-being.
